Benny (Ebert) Ross gives a us sneak peek...

Most of you probably already saw Benny's comment but I thought I'd give it the attention it deserves.

"Just to let everybody know I saw the best movie at a workers showing at Del Oro. STAR WARS REVENGE OF THE SITH, I saw it everybody. It is so good, it's really sad and heavy at some points. But it is so good, I loved it, plus there were a couple of cool previews. Like Fantastic Four, Batman Begins, and the Chronicles of Narnia, which looks so good, I can't wait.

But People, Revenge of the Sith is sooooo good, I loved it so much and at one point a tear dripped from my eye. I can admit that, because I am sure some other people will cry as well. This movie has better acting, better fight scenes, heavy hard scenes, and sad things make you cry.

This is the greatest movie of this year so far."

Benny, there's no shame in shedding a tear or two. That's why the theater is dark. I'm sure that tonight I'll weep openly at Anakin's demise and bury my teary cheek in Suzanne's shoulder.

Just a matter of hours now! Sweet Mary, I can't wait!

Exactly, Walker. Except this holiday is all the more special because it's only happened 5 times previously and this is the very last time it ever will! *sob*

E tu, Benny? I for one hope they all have a mass suicide of characters at the end.

I want to add that it will never be as good as National Treasure, the best film of our time.
PS Have you all noticed I now know how to publish my name in clever ways instead of "Anonomously", (even though I was always brave enough to leave my name at the end)? It only took Rosalyn 3 hours to teach me.

Speaking of Natalie Portman -- Mom, what'd you think of The Professional?

You can cry babe. I won't think any less of you. Just don't think less of me when I'm crying in the morning as the kids are waking me up after I've had only 3 hours of sleep. I agree Walker, it does feel like a holiday. We get to watch a great movie at midnight with a ton of other people who want to love it as much as us while eating junk food. What could be better than that? Hey Walker, are you going to Del Oro or are you going to watch it at some fancy shmancy theater in Roseville?

I admit, the acting was exceptional, even little Natalie Portman was great, the story intriguing, but dang, Levi, you know I can't handle that kind of violence. Guns in faces with folks, albiet drug dealers, but still folks, begging for mercy is just too icky for me.
What's funny, is I asked, "Is there anything real bad in this?" And you thought for a moment, and said, "No, nothing." Have you become so hardened that you don't remember everyone dying in blood baths? Were you trying to get revenge for my poor behaviour that evening? Don't you remember what Leon the Professional said about revenge?
Anyway, yes, it was a well made movie, and I give it an 8 in the icky-creepy-over-the-top-violent-movie-genre.

i am going in sacramento. it was the closest midnight showing that was not sold out. and apparently i am a little too much of a "high profile character" at the del oro. the last thing i want is to get kicked out at star wars.

I need to say, I love the clever ways you are all signing in to comment. It's very entertaining. Keep up the good work. Levi--While I liked The Professional a lot, I was suprised you told your mom to see it. The violence is pretty hardcore. That's still my favorite Natalie Portman movie. She's all grownupish now and pretty...but that first character she played comes through all of her performances somehow.
Have fun going to the midnight showing of Star Wars you guys! Dan and I will be having Taco Salad and watching American Idol at Nikki and Eric's, then we'll be in our snug little beds while you are all standing in the rain with all the other movie-goobers!
(I'm secretly jealous)
Don't spoil anything on your blog post tomorrow, Levi!
Enjoy the experience for the rest of us!
...as Danwise would say--Hartmann Out.

"apparently i am a little too much of a 'high profile character' at the del oro."

:) I picture the following conversation.

-------------------------------
Enemy 1: (Whispering seriously, face grim) "Word has it is that a fellow by the name of Walker Glenn is going to show is face in the Del Oro tonight..."

Enemy 2: (Scared and shocked) "Walker Glenn? Here?"

Enemy 1: "Shhh! Keep your voice down, you fool!"

Enemy 2: (Calms himself).

Enemy 1: "Will you be ready?"

Enemy 2: "As ready as I can... I'll alert the rest of the men."
-------------------------------

I could go on forever...

Mom: We can talk more about The Professional tonight but I didn't think it was that violent...

that's hilarious, levi. i am glad to see you caught the "tongue and cheek" nature of my comment.

what with the expression "tongue and cheek" anyway? i mean, i use it a lot, but only because it makes me sound smart, not because i understand it. and why is tongue spelled "T-O-N-G-U-E?" it makes no sense! clearly the spelling should be "tung."

horray for tung and cheek humour!

I wish I could've been there to cry along with you, cause I know I will.

I won't be seeing any of you in the theater for a while... I got bogged down in line... could barely move forward in my "Bo the Hutt" outfit (I've put on a few pounds)... it didn't help to have Denise chained to me in her Princess Leia metal one-piece bathing suit, dragging her along. We eventually got to the box office, but I think our tickets are for June 4, 2008.

Levi, I wait on pins and needles for your emotional, heartfelt review! You must be so exausted...at least Suzanne can try and nap while the kids are sleeping...

Okay, Sadie... come down out of the clouds and get your mind out of the death star trash compacter. I didn't say my dignified wife, Denise, was wearing a "Princess Leia bikini."

I said, that Denise was manacled to me and chained, while wearing her "Princess Leia metal one-piece bathing suit." It was a modest, tasteful one-piece and not some trashy bikini. There is a difference. Oh, and yes, she was veiled.

"Han" commented. Is that "Han" Solo, wanting to watch the last Star Wars with Benny? Certainly it couldn't be "Han" (or Hannah) Ross-recently-turned-Miller! For you were quoted on this very blog as admitting that the new Star Wars "sucked" (that is your word, sister-girl, not mine, as I consider it very naughty) and "everyone knows it, but won't admit it." (Re: Most Overrated Films of All Time) And now, with all the hoopla and festivities, you've crossed over, I get it. Well, I guess since you've gone back into the closet, I am the lone voice of this generation. I shall even make a review without seeing the Return of the Sith or whatever: I confidently, knowingly, professionaly, give it a very weak 5 out of 10 stars! I have spoken.

yeah that was me Hannah.i didn't realize til after i posted that using my nickname in a star wars related post would look kind of stupid. And yeah I did say that the other ones sucked,i don't know how you know that. But I was hopeful with each new release that one of them would turn out to be even half as good as the original. and when i started seeing previews for this newest one,i started to believe that this one could be THE ONE. and from what i hear,it is. so no, i'm not just jumping on the bandwagon,i'm just a hopeful star wars fan that wants to believe that george lucas won't let me down. again.

Walker: I just had a tongue spelling experience, except I always want to spell it " tounge" Doesn't that look better?

All: revenge of the sith was amazing ! There are so many great aspects of it I could go on forever and plan to with anyone who will listen.

so people who saw it liked it, was that movie not more that amazing (i am not putting you down levi). It was so good, filmed better than the others (the new trilogy not the 4,5 and 6th).

Just a notice, Lucas is going to make a tv series and he hinted that he may make a third trilogy to STAR WARS!

I definitely could see someone shedding a tear. Mrs. Zombieslayer and I hugged after the movie. It was that intense emotionally.
It was so intense, because I could see myself turning evil in that situation. It's something we can relate to.

The Professional was awesome. Before I met Mrs. Zombieslayer, watched it with a female friend and held her as she cried afterwards. Dang, that should be on my fav movies list.

Zombieslayer, the Proffesional was a good movie. Would not Leon be a cool person to help you in your war against the Zombies? We forgot him.
But, besides being a bit violent for my sweet tastes, I thought one scene was super contrived. When they go to make their hits, and he's training her, and they stop and discuss stuff, like where to hit the guy. She's totally cool and non-plussed while the guy gets shot. I think the director thought this was cute, but I thought it made her less likeable. Her character wasn't really the one I related to, anyway, Leon was the real protagonist, but it just didn't go with the grittiness of the rest of the movie.
