Superman - first look

After years in development limbo, the new Superman movie is on it's way and the first image of the man himself leaked out today.

Then, as Clark:

I'm pretty excited about this film. The director is the gentlemen responsible for the X-Men films and The Usual Suspects, among others. I think he'll do a smash-up job. Here's hoping it's nothing like Daredevil. *shudder*

Anyone else rooting for a great Superman film?

ew. I hate to say this so early, but my first reaction to the picture of Superman was "ew." He's kinda gross and...what word am I looking for? Beefy? I dunno. It makes me sad because Christopher is gone and he was such the perfect Superman...
it seems almost mean that we could think of replacing him; just my thoughts.

Yeah, Reeve was the classic Superman - although I do think that this guy has the Reeve thing going on as Clark. Not so much as Superman.

I'm with Sadie. He's kind of sexy, and I think the comic-book Superman always had an innocence, a small-town-boy-persona. There's something about his underwear that looks kind of Ambercrombie-ish. Give me the old Soop that had his trunks pulled up to his chin! I will remain open, but I am retisent... yes, retisent. ~Mom

OOOh I lite it. Superman himself is not as cool as he COULD be, but I really like his boots!

He has a goos clark look to me . I'm so stoked about this movie . Please be good, please please be good. Superman is The BEST superhero out there and he needs to be represented . I've had enough of people freaking out over spiderman just cuz he has movies.

um, hello? people didn't start "freaking out" over spiderman because he has movies. the whole reasson they MADE movies is because people have been freaking out over spiderman since he came out. spiderman rocks--- at least he is a normal guy. i am not trying to make this a personal attack, but i JUST DON'T GET this whole super man obsession of yours. i mean, he is basically invincible, where is the excitment in that?

also, i would like to point out that there are a bunch of super man movies, and people still aren't "freaking out" over him, are they?

Ahhh Walker, where do I start. First Spiderman is not just a normal guy,it really makes me wonder when people say that. I just didnt know that normal people had spidey sense or can climb up walls up or practically fly through cities. So he is not normal.

By the way has Spiderman ever died? Superman is not invincible. It's almost comical how often kryptonite shows up on earth.

Walker, you have to admit that there has been alot of spiderman hype since the movies. Now everyone is a Spiderman fan, even if they have never even read comics before.

interesting point about the "normalcy" of spidey, but maybe i shoudl clarify what i meant (my last comment was made in a bit an anger-induced haze).

i suppose it would be much more accurate to state that peter parker is "normal..." as in, a relatable character. i don't realte to clark kent, becuase he is not even human. and this big bad thing called "kryponite" doesn't really do much for me. so no spiderman has never died, but when superman died, but when ol' supie did, he was out of the picture for about all of five minutes. every time i watch spiderman i leave the experience wishing with everything in me that i coud BE spiderman. everytime i see super man i think, "well, this costume is a little awkward... should i be seeing this?"

you get the picture.

and, yes, of course there is a bunch of annoying hype and people wearing spiderman shirts who have probably never even picked up a comic, but how many dumb wiggers have you seen sporting a giant super man logo on their lowered honda? too amny, i am afraid.
